Les Tuileries 2006

IMG_3213

The 2006 Les Tulieres is a deep golden yellow color. A very floral nose consisting of acacias and white flowers. Aromas of ripe peach, apricot, lemon and honey. Flavors on the palate mimic the aromas. There is a lovely balance between the sweetness and the acidity. The wine is light, smooth and has a long finish. A very enjoyable wine that paired well with a peach tart.

Les Tuileries is a 6 acre estate located in the southern Sauternes region in France. It’s biggest claim to fame seems to be that Chateau Rieussec is its’ neighbor. Soils are sand and gravel. Grapes used were 95% Semillon and 5% Sauvignon Blanc. 30% of the wine saw 1 year of aging in 15% French Oak barrels and 15% American oak barrels.
